Apple and pumpkins and gourds, oh my! Fall is everywhere, which means people are breaking out their sheet pans & baking up warm spiced treats in the kitchen. I love it! Keep going!
The interwebs are chock FULL of these delicious fall treats – where to start! Maybe with these chewy chai snickerdoodles? Or for the love of Vermont, this spiced pumpkin cake? We can roll up our sleeves and get fancy with this apple mosaic tart with salted caramel. Or maybe, just maybe, get a little boozed up with this buttered rum & candied sweet potato crumb cake.
Decisions, decisions. Let’s start with these Apple Butter Pecan Cinnamon Rolls and see where the season takes us.
The inspiration for these flaky swirls of fall came from J the Baker’s Baking Bootcamp with King Arthur Flour. Over the coming weeks, Joy will post three recipes that teach us new baking techniques in the kitchen. Join me in learning & baking with Joy!
For these rolls, J went full on chocolate-hazelnut (swoon), but as she suggested, I went with things I had in my pantry. Fresh apples, chopped pecans, apple butter, and Cinnamon Flav-R-Bites (from last fall’s visit to King Arthur Flour in Vermont!).
Head to J’s post for the full tutorial on how to make quick puff pastry dough and details on her dreamy filling. I’ve posted the deets for my filling below. Whether fall-themed or loaded with chocolate, these rolls are a must bake as fall chills the air.
Snack away, friends!
